This year AltGen strapped on their boots and grabbed their hard hats as we set-out to celebrate ‘Global Wind Day’ across the African continent. With most of our staff visiting various wind farms and experiencing the magic for themselves, our consulting team attended the graduation ceremony of 18 students who successfully completed the internationally recognized Wind Turbine Service Technician Training Programme at the South African Renewable Energy Technology Centre (SARETEC).

AltGen congratulates all of the students and we look forward to tracking their professional progress.

Our team in Kenya took the scenic road to the idyllic Ngong Hills where they visited the Ngong Hills Wind Farm owned and operated by KenGen. Observations by our team was the accessibility and beauty of the farm, it is open to visitors and the local community bring their cattle to graze.

ZA Employees visited West Coast One Wind Farm in Vredenburg, where they were given an in-depth view of the SCADA operations and the important role it plays, and taken on a tour inside the gentle giants – wind turbines supplied by Vestas.
