To add your CV to our database, please fill in the form on our CV Submission page. Importantly, please make sure you attach your CV and any relevant qualifications. Your information will then be stored in our database and our recruiters can refer back to your information when a suitable position becomes available.

No, of course not! AltGen is compliant with the POPIA and GDPR regulations. This means we can’t and won’t send your information to our clients without receiving permission from you to do so. Also…it’s important for us to know if you have been submitted for the same vacancy by another recruitment agency. View our Privacy Policy and POPI Policy.
 

We provide our clients with a premium recruitment service. This could be when their internal capacity doesn’t allow them to effectively manage the recruitment process, or their expansion requires a level of privacy from competitors in the market. For that reason, AltGen acts as the representative on behalf of the client to undergo their recruitment activities. Click here to view our jobs.

Once you apply for a job, your CV and any other documents you submitted will go through to the recruiter working the specific role. They will then work through it to make sure it matches the requirements of the job. If you meet all the requirements, our recruiters will be in touch with you and we will start the process of submitting you to our client once we have your permission. If you do not hear back from us within 10 days, you can consider your application unsuccessful. However, do continue to keep your eye on our job board and our LinkedIn page as something suitable may become available!

AltGen does not always stipulate the full requirements of the role for various reasons. Thus, our recruitment team will carefully screen all applicants in accordance with the client’s full scope of requirements. AltGen ensures that our clients only receive the topmost suited candidates. AltGen Recruitment largely recruits for roles based in South Africa. However, we have extensive experience providing recruitment services throughout Africa. We currently have offices based in South Africa, Kenya and Mauritius with an office in the UK in the works! AltGen is actively growing our talent base and services to extend to the European market. We can’t provide you with an exact answer.  The length of time largely depends on the available candidates and a client’s recruitment process. However, once we have conducted our job analysis with you and our T&C’s have been signed, it typically takes us a few days to find candidates and evaluate their suitability for your vacancy. You will receive between 3-5 strong profiles from us. Interviews can take place once you’ve shortlisted the preferred candidates. It is vital that we work collaboratively for a smooth, quick, and effective recruitment process.  We do our best to ensure you have the best candidate for your vacancy at the end of our engagement. Robert Veith

Joining AltGen in 2014, Robert started as a Recruitment Consultant and has since become our Recruitment Director overseeing the Recruitment and Executive Search division. Robert has extensive experience in securing talent for rare skills in the energy engineering market, including skills to the likes of Power System Engineers, SCADA Engineers, Project Developers and Electrical Engineering skills specific to design.

Through Robert’s leadership, each recruitment team is enabled to focus on their specific area of expertise, ensuring all client hiring needs are met. Through Robert’s years of dedication to sourcing and securing top talent in the industry, he has a wealth of insight into the skills market and provides our clients with a competitive advantage in a scarce skills environment enabling them to effectively execute on some of the most challenging renewable energy projects across Africa. Robert is also responsible for growth of the engineering recruitment team.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Management from UNISA as well as a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from CPUT.

Lindy Taylor

Business Development & Innovation Director

As the Innovation & Business Development Manager, Lindy is responsible for the marketing and business development activities of AltGen. Through her big picture vision, Lindy has enabled AltGen to remain responsive in the cleantech space. She is responsible for engagements with new clients.
 
Lindy initially joined AltGen in 2015 and has grown into being an integral member of the senior management team. She ensures a collaborative approach with clients catering to their custom needs. Her focus is on attaining new clients, as well as handling contractual relationships with new and existing stakeholders.
 
Lindy holds a Bachelor’ Degree in Social Sciences from Rhodes University.

Chris Roetz

Workforce Management Services: General Manager

Chris Roetz oversees AltGen’s Workforce Management division in the Northern Cape. He is responsible for the successful execution of HR advisory and management services for clients’ utility-scale projects in the region. Currently, Roetz mobilises an outsourced staff complement of over 200 employees. He also steers AltGen’s Solar Works programme in conjunction with his Pofadder based team.

Chris has 20 years of professional experience in an HR and outsourced staffing capacity within the energy environment and holds a National Diploma in Human Resource Management from UNISA.

Muslim Janoowala

Muslim Janoowala drives AltGen’s consulting services arm. Muslim has 10+ years of experience in the renewable energy, water and general engineering space in Eastern Africa and has played an instrumental role in the success of AltGen consulting engagement on the AFD Green Mini-grid Programme in Kenya. His expertise caters to M&E activities, project management, impact analysis and assessments of funded water and renewable energy programmes that “enlighten” and uplift communities in rural Africa.

Muslim holds an MSc in Construction Management from Cass Business School and a Bachelor of Engineering in Architectural Environment Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
