You must have a degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering, or a Business School qualification such as an MBA or the likes. You should also have at least 4 years’ experience in renewable power plant development with a good understanding of project development processes. You need to have a good understanding of the typical bid requirements for the renewable energy industry.
As a Business Development Manager, you will manage all the development operations in Liverpool, and other parts of Europe. You will be involved throughout the entire project development cycle to ensure profitable projects. You will provide strategic input in all other departments such as engineering, finance, corporate, legal and ESG. You will also identify and manage all project opportunities and engage with energy users on a bilateral basis. You will secure purchase agreement and tender opportunities, manage negotiations, bid preparations, and coordination to ensure competitive, complete, and compliant commercial offers.

- BSC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Business School or similar qualification such as an MBA
- 4-6 years of work experience in renewable energy business development, specifically in solar energy
- Experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Excellent understanding of renewable energy project development processes
- Excellent understanding of the typical bid requirements for the renewable energy industry
- Experience in bringing projects to financial close with a specific focus on deal structuring and negotiations, project finance exposure and a general understanding of land rights, licensing and permitting requirements for renewable power plants
Responsibilities include identifying potential project opportunities and assisting throughout the identification, evaluation, and assessment of solar projects for investment. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for negotiating and signing lease agreements, liaising with authorities to acquire are permissions needed to build solar plants, and collaborating with the engineers regarding the technical design of each plant.
