We are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager (with 3-5 years of experience in the development of solar/wind projects) who is eager to drive growth and foster innovation within the renewable energy industry.

Our client stands as a leading renewable energy firm, specializing in the development of large-scale projects focusing on solar, wind, and BESS technologies. They presently manage an expansive project development pipeline, boasting an impressive capacity exceeding 1500MW in solar, wind, and BESS technologies.
As our ideal candidate, you are equipped with a tertiary qualification in business management along with an impressive track record of successfully finalised transactions regarding solar PV and/or wind projects. Your track record speaks volumes, having secured over R30 million for solar and BESS projects, with several ongoing projects in your portfolio.
You are equipped with demonstrated expertise in negotiating PPA terms with a diverse array of stakeholders, encompassing utilities and off-takers. You also possess a comprehensive understanding of the specific requisites and regulations embedded within the REIPPPP frameworks. Moreover, familiarity with the guidelines and prerequisites established by NERSA for renewable energy projects, notably concerning licensing, tariffs, and alignment with renewable energy objectives, is considered a vital asset.
Your strategic mindset is geared towards growth, and adept at recognising key market entry points. You have taken the lead in crafting and implementing innovative strategies for market expansion, leveraging your expertise to establish a robust foothold in the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. A key requirement is a demonstrated grasp of market dynamics, pricing models, and effective risk management strategies related to renewable energy PPAs.

Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of business development experience in the renewable energy sector
- Proven track record in closing business deals and securing project funding, particularly in the field of renewable energy
- Experience in managing and overseeing the entire tender process, from creation to successful submission and winning
- Demonstrated expertise in project buyer networking, sales process management, and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) negotiations
- Familiarity with the legal intricacies and regulatory frameworks governing PPAs within the renewable energy industry such as the REIPPPP and NERSA
- Proficiency in utilizing both quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to develop strategic insights and make informed business decisions
