With a global presence and a diverse client portfolio, our client is known for its expertise in technical due diligence, specializing in solar photovoltaic and wind projects throughout their life cycle.

    In the role of the Senior Wind/Solar Technical Due Diligence Expert, you will serve as the primary point of contact, establishing connections with clients and crafting detailed technical reports to steer them through the various phases of the project life cycle. Your responsibilities extend to the management of technical due diligence assignments, taking the lead on feasibility studies, and critically assessing the designs of solar and wind projects. Furthermore, you will be tasked with the oversight of technical advisory work, a multifaceted role involving negotiations of construction contracts, evaluation of technical risks, and vigilant monitoring of both project construction and operational phases. Your collaboration skills will be crucial as you engage with other departments, including legal, insurance, and finance, providing valuable support to project investors during the pivotal financial close process. Lastly, as an integral part of the position, you will embark on travels to diverse locations within Africa, adding a dynamic element to your role and contributing to the broader scope of the projects under your purview.

    Education Requirements

    • Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent in experience

    Experience Requirements

    • More than 5 years of consulting experience in renewable energy
    • 3+ years of experience in solar and wind technical advisory.
    • Proven experience as a lenders or owners engineer technical advisor is essential.
    • Excellent EPC and O&M tender preparation skills.
    • Strong contract negotiating and reviewing skills.
    • Conducted feasibility studies and multiple technical solar and wind turbine inspections.
    • Thorough review of relevant wind and solar PV project designs and permitting processes.
    • Experience in supervising the installation of wind monitoring systems such as Met Mast and overseeing measurement campaigns

    Responsibilities

    • Act as the primary point of contact, liaising with clients and composing technical reports to guide them through the project life cycle.
    • Manage technical due diligence assignments, lead feasibility studies, and evaluate project designs.
    • Oversee technical advisory work, including negotiating construction contracts, assessing technical risks, and monitoring project construction and operation.
    • Collaborate with other departments such as legal, insurance, and finance to support project investors during the financial close process.
    • Travel to different locations in Africa as part of the role.

    Skills

    • A driver’s license is highly beneficial.
    • Proficient in English, French, and/or Portuguese.
    • Ethical negotiation principles with contractors and clients.
    • Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks.
    • Proficiency in cutting-edge software tools.
    • Strong technical, independent mindset.
    • Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills
