The ideal candidate will hold a Registered Electrician Trade Certification as well as a N6 Diploma in Electro-Mechanical with at least 7 years of experience in related fields. You need to have extensive experience in the installation, operating and fault finding of LV (DC and AC) and MV electro-mechanical/mechanical primary equipment and control gear. You should have good knowledge of LV and MV switchgear, transformers as well as cables. Prior experience with high voltage (132 kV) equipment, operation and maintenance will be extremely useful. You must also have a thorough understanding of O&M practices for a renewable energy power plant with excellent leadership and organizational skills forming part of your main characteristics.

The primary responsibilities of the Electrical Team Leader will involve the inspection, operation, maintenance, supervision, and safety of the infrastructure of the facility and field personnel. You will be responsible for the supervision of all O&M functions and SCADA monitoring of the plant and staff. You will also be responsible for coordinating and implementing all electro-mechanical systems and operation and maintenance, as well as overseeing the planning and development of all resources required to deliver a timeous implementation of operation and maintenance activities. This will include parts, tools and labour required to ensure that the daily work mandates are completed in a timely manner as well as in accordance with operational and maintenance procedures and guidelines. As a leader, you will ensure that the team works safely and is complying with appropriate risk assessments and permits to work. You will be responsible for team briefings and induction activities surrounding work protocols, safety and ensure messages are understood by all concerned parties to ensure that safety standards and procedures developed are always adhered to.

• Registered Electrician Trade Certification

Responsibilities include the operation, maintenance, coordination, and supervision of the overall O&M functions of the electro-mechanical system and SCADA monitoring of the plant, co-ordinating and performing all aspects of electro-mechanical systems operation and maintenance, overseeing the planning and scheduling of all resources required to deliver quality execution of operations and maintenance aspects, leading and guiding teams in carrying out the operation and maintenance within the plant, ensuring that the team works safely and is complying with appropriate risk assessments and permits to work as well as executing all team briefings and induction activities regarding protocols, safety measures and ensuring that all team messages are relayed and understood in a timeous manner.
