    As a Financial Modeler, you will join their London-based team and play a vital role in supporting corporate and finance activities, as well as the Business Development team. You will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reviewing financial models, ensuring that all decisions are based on sound economic and financial analysis. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on financial modeling experience, a deep understanding of complex project finance transactions and renewable energy technologies, as well as transaction experience across managing multiple workstreams and processes.

    Education Requirements

    • Minimum degree qualified (business, economics, engineering, or accounting)
    • CFA certification or related certification (FMVA, CAIA, FRM, ERP)

    Experience Requirements

    • Deep knowledge of the technical and economic parameters, operational risks, and market trends of renewable energy technologies, with a track record of successfully developing and delivering projects in the industry
    • Expertise in project finance structures, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), tax equity structures, and debt financing, with the ability to negotiate complex agreements and secure funding for projects
    • Mastery of financial modeling techniques, including financial statement analysis, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, and sensitivity analysis, with the ability to create robust and accurate financial models that account for all relevant factors, including environmental impacts and regulatory compliance
    • Understanding of energy policies and regulations, including tax incentives, feed-in tariffs, and renewable portfolio standards, with the ability to navigate complex legal frameworks and ensure compliance in all aspects of project development and operation
    • Knowledge of environmental factors, including carbon pricing, greenhouse gas emissions, and environmental regulations, and the ability to incorporate these factors into project planning and decision-making
    • Proven experience managing and overseeing complex project finance transactions, including non-recourse project finance structures, with the ability to oversee multiple workstreams and processes and ensure successful project delivery
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and regulatory bodies, and effectively communicate project plans and progress to all parties
    • Experience in power/energy/infrastructure industries, growth markets, and/or infrastructure investments is a plus, with a proven track record of identifying and evaluating investment opportunities and managing project risks to deliver strong returns for investors.

    Responsibilities

    As Finance Modeller, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining complex financial models that meet the needs of the business, including corporate, operational energy generation, and new development models. These models must be auditable, timely, and include assumptions, economic outcomes, and key sensitivities. You will be expected to define inputs and assumptions accurately by compiling financial model databooks that reflect legal commercial agreements, requiring collaboration with project team members and subject matter experts, such as finance, legal, engineering, technical advisers, and external advisors as needed.

    To succeed in this role, you should have extensive experience in financial modeling, preferably in the renewable energy industry, with a strong understanding of complex project finance transactions and non-recourse project finance structures. You should have an excellent understanding of energy policies and regulations, including tax incentives, feed-in tariffs, and renewable portfolio standards, and be skilled in financial statement analysis, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, and sensitivity analysis. Your ability to manage multiple workstreams and processes, as well as your experience in power/energy/infrastructure industries, growth markets, and/or infrastructure investments, will be highly valued.

    Skills

    • Accounting and tax experience and qualification for infrastructure projects
