The ideal candidate needs to have a National Diploma or BTech in Safety Management, and at least 3 years of experience in HSEQ. You need to have a SAMTRAC qualification with extensive knowledge of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations and be medically fit to work and operate on-site. We are looking for someone who is driven, action orientated with great organizational and planning skills.
The HSE Support Officer will support any HSE aspects about the ongoing and incoming projects as well as site teams. You will also support in assessing and mitigating site risk based on local and statutory as well as project company requirements. Further responsibilities of this role include; working with the HSE site team for control of the HSE documentation that is drawn up by the contractor and making amendments to it if necessary, working with the HSE project company team to implement all initiatives directed at improving performance, drawing up periodic reporting of KPIs to the HSEQ department in compliance with the project company’s guidelines, working with the HSE site team during the investigation of incidents, supporting the HSE site team to eliminate or reduce occupational health and safety risks and ensuring that contractors and, where appropriate, subcontractors consistently and responsibly apply the principles of preventive action.

Education Requirements
- National Diploma or BTech in Safety Management
- SAMTRAC Qualification
Experience Requirements
- At least 3 years’ experience in HSEQ
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations
- Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment experience
- Medically fit to work within the construction and operate on site
- Experience in investigating incidents
- Clear understanding of root cause analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valuable training in Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001) would be beneficial
