    Description

Are you a motivated Lead Engineer with a keen interest in the wind and solar energy market? This is your chance to be part of one of Africa’s leaders in the renewable energy sector, with a portfolio of 500MW in operation. Grow your career and professional skills while you oversee the development to construction and operations of utility-scale energy projects.

You need to have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 7 - 10 years of experience in power plant engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations. A background in engineering design, exposure to renewable energy projects, and competency with Matlab is required for this role. The ideal candidates will have an analytical and meticulous work approach, an understanding of EBOP-related legislation and regulations, and knowledge of project management and critical path scheduling. We really want to know about any energy projects, particularly in renewables, that you’ve worked on, so be sure to include a comprehensive track record!

As the Lead Electrical Engineer, your key responsibilities include the review of project design and overseeing project compliance, reporting on construction progress, monitoring facility, and equipment performance, and coordinating IE, OE, LTA, and SBO activities. You will need to have a detailed understanding of key equipment and EBOP specifications, review and recommend any necessary changes to designs, conduct monthly and Ad hoc site inspections, assist with technical liaison between Company and various stakeholders, review Factory and Site Acceptance Tests to ensure equipment performance meets design requirements, and facilitate Grid Code Compliance risk mitigation. Tasks include analyzing asset performance using SCADA data and HO monitoring resources, troubleshooting equipment when necessary, and evaluating the outcome of technical studies to determine the feasibility of connecting a project to the national grid.

This is an awesome opportunity to work on innovative renewable technology while you contribute to the green energy market and sustainable power accessibility across Africa! Don’t miss out if this sounds like the right fit for you…
