Logistics Engineer – Solar PV – Gauteng

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Logistics Engineer for our client. You can join a team that is part of a leading Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in the solar PV industry.

The Logistics Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing the supply chain processes and ensuring the seamless flow of materials and products throughout the operations.

As a Logistics Engineer, with a Bachelor’s in Logistics or Supply Chain Management, you are responsible for and should have experience in process improvement in which you continuously assess and identify areas for improvement in the supply chain operations. Data analysis reporting will be a crucial aspect of the role where logistics software will be utilised to analyse data and generate insightful reports.

You will take charge of quality assurance, compliance management, and inventory management to effectively control the standard of the products as well as the supply of them. As the Logistics Engineer, you will need to be an organised and effective communicator to optimise and facilitate cross-functional coordination to proactively address bottlenecks or challenges in the procurement, production, or warehousing process. You will ensure that you maintain strong relationships with suppliers to synchronise timely delivery with demand and inventory requirements.

It is crucial to proactively develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate any disruptions in the supply chain workflow since you play the vital role of a mediator between the production process and movement of the equipment either pre- or post-sale. Effectively meeting and exceeding KPIs in this role will ensure customer satisfaction and increase clientele and sales.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience in logistics and supply chain management within a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with solar PV industry logistics is a strong advantage
• Demonstrated expertise in implementing and managing logistics strategies
• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements
• Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures
