AltGen is on the hunt for a Marketing wizz to join our team and lead all marketing activities that will generate brand exposure and market share for our firm. We are looking for someone who enjoys being involved in various aspects of marketing and is a self-starter!

We are a small team of 22 dynamic and intelligent individuals who are passionate about people and the planet. AltGen is Africa's leader in renewable energy and sustainability recruitment, employment and HR consulting services. We are looking for someone who is passionate about accelerating the race to net-zero through helping companies connect to skills that are able to help them do this.

Our goal is to solidify our position as industry market leaders in the fields of people, sustainability, renewable energy and technology. Our biggest point of difference is our ability to succeed where others fail - we are highly qualitative in our approach with clients and candidates, unlike most other firms which are quantitative.

If you are the person we are looking for, you will ideally have a degree in either marketing, commerce, psychology, business or entrepreneurship - but more importantly, you will be able to think out of the box (a creative visionary) and also be highly analytical. It is vital that you have at least 2 to 3 years of work experience under your belt. You will need to be able to develop smart unique content as well as designs and in turn, interpret the statistics which are a result of your efforts.

If you are a go-getter who is exceptionally independent and doesn't mind getting stuck into all things related to marketing, then you are the person we want on our team!

Education Requirements

Tertiary qualification in marketing, entrepreneurship, commerce, psychology, business or similar

Experience Requirements

2-4+ years experience in a start-up environment, running the full scope of marketing activities
Excellent copywriting skills
Strong design abilities using Adobe products (video and photoshop)
PR experience is a plus
Experience using Google Console, Analytics and other Google products is vital
SEO and WordPress experience is important
Customer service experience is important

Responsibilities

Copywriting (job adverts, social media posts, blogs etc) - 40% of the role requirements
Design - 15% of the role requirements
PR and generating exposure activities - 15% of the role requirements
SEO and website updates - 10% of the role requirements
Marketing strategy and stats interpretation - 15% of the role requirements
Customer service engagement - 5%

Work Hours

8am - 5pm
Full time in office at our Head Office in Stellenbosch, ability to work more remotely is an option down the line
