    You need to have a degree in the field of electromechanical, mechanical or chemical engineering, and at least 5 years of experience in engineering, preferably on a CSP plant and/or a thermal power plant. The ideal candidate will have notable technical and engineering knowledge, a sound understanding of industry standards, design codes and regulations, the ability to effectively work with various stakeholders, an assertive and motivational attitude and work ethic, and the ability to implement and impose a strong technical solution. Sound knowledge of project management and engineering practices within the EPC contract, O&M contract and PPA is essential, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1993 and its regulations, design codes and regulatory context, and all other applicable South African legislation

    As the new Performance Engineer, your key responsibilities will be monitoring and reporting on plant performance, providing onsite technical support and advice, reviewing and reporting on O&M efficiency, and serving as owner’s representative on site. You will need to review all engineering associated with thermal Storage and HTF system performance, report on heat balance and power plant efficiency and prepare relevant heat transfer, review plant critical equipment and preventive maintenance strategies of the O&M contractor, assist O&M Contractor in effectively implementing changes that ensure the safe and environmentally compliant operation of the plant, and establish a positive professional relationship with internal and external customers. Key tasks include reviewing and auditing applied standards, practices and equipment specifications to ensure compliance, proactively monitoring plant processes and making recommendations for optimizing them, conducting performance tests to assess equipment and process performance, and acting as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the project company.
