In this multifaceted role, the Procurement & Logistics Officer takes charge of a range of critical responsibilities. This includes sourcing and evaluating quotations for materials and considering delivery timelines and payment terms. They lead the procurement efforts for essential materials in line with our stringent quality and cost-efficiency standards. Collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams, they orchestrate plant hire arrangements for site operations, optimizing logistics. Meticulous planning is at the core of their duties, encompassing the scheduling and efficient transportation of materials and equipment to project sites.

Moreover, you manage storage solutions, encompassing containers and warehousing, and oversee the smooth delivery of resources to site locations. Integral to project management, you ensure that project tools are consistently updated to reflect the latest scheduling and delivery statuses. Focused on cost-efficiency, you diligently obtain competitive material prices by soliciting a minimum of three quotes. The role extends to issuing precise procurement orders with comprehensive details, covering materials, pricing, delivery specifics, and transparent terms and conditions, often with support from the Projects Team.

This proactive role maintains vigilant oversight of deliveries, monitoring them at regular intervals to provide the P&L team with accurate updates on shipment statuses. Additionally, you play a pivotal role in expanding and maintaining our supplier database, fortifying a network of dependable partners. In negotiations, they work to secure favourable payment terms and conditions that ultimately benefit our organization, making a significant contribution to our overall mission.

• BCom in Supply Chain Management

• Possess 1+ years of logistics experience.
• Previous experience in the solar industry is an advantage, but not a requirement.
• Exhibit strong negotiation skills and proficiency in conflict management.
• Display excellent numeracy skills, along with a strong command of Excel.
• Showcase robust IT skills, including mastery of MS Office applications.
• Demonstrate basic database management skills.
• Exhibit effective documentation and record-keeping abilities.
• Be open to developing a technical understanding (training will be provided).
• Show excellent interpersonal skills.
• Communicate fluently in both English and Afrikaans, with knowledge of other languages considered an advantage.

• Solicit and evaluate quotations for materials during bidding phases, taking into account delivery timeframes and payment terms.
• Spearhead the procurement of materials necessary for the construction of renewable energy plants, adhering to our high standards of quality and cost-efficiency.
