The ideal candidate needs to have a bachelor’s degree and at least 15 years of experience in relevant project development and management roles. You need to have the ability to oversee the execution planning of major projects, have excellent project management and implementation skills, excellent communication skills, projects controls capability including cost control, scheduling and reporting, be able to manage a notable scope of work in a remote location, and have proven contractual administration abilities. A Master’s level from an internationally renowned university, and experience in large-scale carbon projects in adjacent industries such as infrastructure, agriculture, and forestry is beneficial.
As the new Project Director, responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of a high-quality project consisting of thousands of hectares of the native Spekboom species, engaging with implementation contractor, managing carbon asset development and the overall delivery of the project execution, and facilitate MRV phases of work in accordance with the approved schedule and budget. The project will transform large areas of the rural South African landscape and will generate noteworthy carbon offsets in the race to solve the world’s climate change crises.
