As our ideal candidate, you will be the cornerstone of the legal department, responsible for providing expert guidance on a wide array of legal matters. Your role will involve analyzing intricate legal issues, identifying potential risks, and devising proactive solutions to ensure legal compliance and minimize legal challenges.
As a Senior Legal Practitioner, you are equipped with more than seven years of experience in project finance, construction, M&A, PPAs, and leases. You will be responsible for providing legal advice to internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal matters and contribute to the development and implementation of legal training programs for employees to enhance legal awareness across the organization. Education Requirements
- Professionally Qualified and Registered Solicitor (or equivalent)
- Bachelor’s degree in law and/or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- Thorough understanding of fundamental business law and corporate matters
- Prior experience as an in-house legal practitioner within a renewable energy organization
- International exposure and/or engagement with multinational enterprises
- Relevant experience in Projects, PPAs, Leases, Construction, Project Finance, and M&A
Responsibilities
- Foresee and provide proactive guidance and assistance to all operational divisions
- Exhibit the capability to navigate legal risks while considering commercial implications
- Draft contracts for new products
- Offer support in corporate structuring initiatives
- Evaluate operations to pinpoint areas necessitating reorganization
- Collaborate with external legal advisors and oversee outsourced services pertaining to specialized matters
- Assist in the maintenance and updating of the legal database
- Represent the department as necessary, liaising with Country Directors and operational units
- Conduct thorough research into regional legal matters and regulations the company
- Offer guidance regarding the regulatory framework for renewable energy and power generation, with a comprehensive grasp of key terms in project financing, Loan Agreements, Power Purchase Agreements, Construction and Supply Agreements, EPC Agreements, and other standard international contracts prevalent in the renewable energy sector
- Provide counsel on general business law matters and oversee legal aspects across all company domains
- Create and negotiate both simple and intricate contracts, encompassing those related to renewable energy power generation projects and beyond
- Identify potential risks and suggest alternative structures to mitigate the risks associated with potential transactions or the resolution of disputes (if any) tied to projects
- Conduct training for the business teams to enhance their understanding of legal aspects
