Are you a Project Developer with experience in large-scale solar and wind farm development? Have you been responsible for taking projects from bid stage through to financial close?

Do you bring unique expertise and knowledge and are you interested in advancing the renewable energy industry in South Africa?

You might be exactly who our client is looking for! They are a leader in the South Africa renewable energy market, having successfully developed projects through the REIPPPP programme and currently operating over 450MW of wind and solar PV projects.

As a Senior Commercial Project Developer, you will be responsible for ensuring the development and implementation of wind and/or solar projects to financial close, from initial site control stages and with a large focus on post-bid development. With a large focus on the commercial aspects of projects, you will be building and reviewing financial models and collating commercial contracts (EPC contracts, PPAs, etc.). You will further assist the PPA/offtake teams to bid for, and secure, PPAs and assist with related matters.

Your natural leadership abilities will enable you to lead interactions with the environmental, off-take, legal, grid, engineering, and construction teams thereby managing technical, commercial, and financial workstreams, and managing junior developers.

You will be responsible for ensuring the timely acquisition, and compliance, of project rights such as permits, consents, land rights, leases, and lease obligations. To this point, creating and maintaining strong relations with local communities, landowners, government agencies, and other stakeholders, will be key to your role as you will lead interactions with local interest groups and I&APs during the EIA process.

A key focus will be the development of technical concepts and solutions for the projects from a technical, commercial, and execution perspective including the civil, mechanical, and electrical aspects of solar PV and wind plants, interconnection and high-voltage design, and yield assessments.

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is waiting for you. Apply today and get ready to change the renewable energy industry in South Africa!
