WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT IN AFRICA

WHAT IS WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT?

AltGen’s Workforce Management in Africa, helps companies concentrate on their main tasks by ensuring their staff works efficiently. We provide comprehensive workforce management solutions, helping our clients maintain effective HR processes that meet labour laws.

From our experience, a significant challenge for IPPs and OEMs is to fulfill their economic development commitments by creating meaningful jobs. It’s our responsibility to ensure work is purposeful and paves the way for both entrepreneurship and long-term job stability.

Based on a client’s needs, we can offer a complete solution or tailor our services to fit their specific requirements. We give IPPs and OEMs the choice to hire directly or have AltGen employ the staff on their behalf.

Did you know that we offer these services in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana?

WHY CHOOSE US?

  • AltGen has 100+ staff enrolled in our TES and WFM solutions in the Northern Cape
  • We ensure that staff mirror and meet demographic Economic Development requirements
  • Clients are able to focus on core operations while we handle the labour-intensive activities linked to people management
  • We have helped our clients to achieve a significant reduction in operational time spent in arbitration and performance management processes
  • We design, develop and deploy community programmes

Our scope of SERVICES

Our complementary services cover two main processes, addressing the full spectrum of a successful HR strategy and employment solution.

The two key processes are:

  1. The “acquisition process” covers “baseline development, design, and planning,” and
  2. The “execution process” that focuses on “execution services.”

Typically, we use the acquisition processes at the beginning of an employment project. The duration of this service depends on the size of the workforce the client needs AltGen to help hire and manage.

We provide the execution process as an ongoing service throughout the duration of the service agreement. AltGen supports clients in managing skilled, semi-skilled and general staff.

Most of our clients opt for the complete solution package because it reduces financial and operational risks. This allows their top management and senior teams to concentrate on core tasks, while AltGen manages the demanding HR activities.

THE SOLAR WORKS PROGRAMME

We began our Solar Works Programme in late 2020. Since then, the Programme has managed as many as 180 staff working at different sites in the Northern Cape.

It’s noteworthy that our projects have trained employees under our professional seamstress trainer, who then produces high-quality retail-grade PPE. This PPE is then supplied to the Power Plants to whom we provide labour. This holds particular relevance when the client needs “project-based activities.”

Our Solar Works Programme aims to enhance the skills of local community members, equipping them with the tools and work ethic needed for employment. Equipped with the right entrepreneurial skills, community members can offer services to the IPPs operating within their local municipalities.
