About the role
We are looking for a Commercial Associate who treats a pipeline like a personal scoreboard, opens doors that weren’t open before, and doesn’t let a deal go cold. You will own relationships end to end: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, closing, and then growing the account once it’s live. You bring a strategy and execution mindset in equal measure, and you follow up and follow through until the deal is done.
Responisibilities
New partnerships and pipeline generation
Open new partnerships with suppliers, retailers, or strategic accounts, from cold outreach through signed agreements.
Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline, prioritising and sequencing opportunities without needing to be chased.
Proactively source and create opportunities rather than waiting for leads to arrive.
Deal closing and negotiation
Negotiate terms and close deals that work for both the company and the partner.
Turn conversations into signed, revenue-generating agreements on a predictable cadence.
Account growth
Grow existing accounts by expanding volume, products, and locations.
Build long-term relationships that keep partners engaged and expand the company.
Commercial strategy and execution
Build and execute commercial strategy, not just work a script: know why an account is worth pursuing and how to win it.
Report on results against the target and adjust the approach based on what’s actually working.
Process, organisation, and follow-through
Follow up relentlessly and follow through completely so nothing sits unanswered and nothing slips.
Keep a clean, organised record of pipeline, conversations, and commitments (CRM discipline).
Requirements
Experience in corporate or B2B sales, with a track record of hitting or beating targets.
A strategy and execution mindset: you plan the approach and then actually do the work.
Proactive by default: you create opportunities rather than wait for leads to arrive.
Strong organisational skills; you don’t lose track of where a deal stands.
Excellent follow-up discipline and follow-through; commitments get kept, and deadlines get hit.
Comfortable negotiating and closing, not just pitching.
Results-oriented: you measure yourself by what closed, not what was attempted.
Nice to have
Experience selling into FMCG, retail, distribution, OMCs, or fintech.
Experience in emerging markets or with informal-sector customers.
Familiarity with CRM tools.
Proficiency in G-Suite (Google Sheets, etc).
