Our client, an independent power producer, is seeking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel with deep expertise in project finance and M&A, based in London.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with 5–7 years of post-qualification experience in project-financed transactions, particularly within the energy and infrastructure sectors. You will have advised both sponsors and lenders, and played a key role in supporting project developers throughout the full transaction lifecycle. Significant experience working on projects across Africa is essential.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Advising on the development, financing, and delivery of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects.
Working closely with internal teams and external partners across multiple jurisdictions.
Supporting negotiations and structuring of EPC, O&M, and other key project contracts.
Providing legal input across the entire development cycle — from early-stage structuring through to financial close and implementation.
What We’re Looking For:
5–7 years PQE, ideally with experience gained both in private practice and in-house.
Strong background in project finance, with experience on both sponsor- and lender-side deals.
Familiarity with African markets, preferably having advised on transactions in the region.
Training at a leading law firm; experience working in a small, agile legal team is a plus.
Solid understanding of construction and operational agreements (EPC, O&M).
