Overview
AltGen is looking for a skilled Senior Project Finance Analyst to join an IPP based in Cape Town. The role will support the Project Finance team in preparing, developing and optimising financial models. It will also lead financial modelling processes with regards to project finance, corporate finance, project development, M&As and capital raising.
Responsibilities
Design, build, maintain and optimise complex financial models for renewable energy projects
Lead financial modelling workstreams, including cash flow analysis and presentation of financial outputs
Review, validate and challenge financial models and assumptions to ensure commercially sound decision-making
Ensure the integrity, functionality and compliance of financial models with accounting, tax and regulatory requirements
Conduct financial and market analysis to support project finance, corporate finance and M&A transactions
Support acquisitions, investments, tenders, bidding processes, capital raising and financial close activities
Identify financial risks, opportunities and efficiencies, contributing to commercial negotiations and investment decisions
Provide financial modelling and analytical support to the CFO function and cross-functional project teams
Communicate financial insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related
2–4 years' experience in financial modelling
Renewable energy industry experience is advantageous
Strong financial analysis skills with a sound understanding of financial statements
Commercially minded with the ability to identify risks and opportunities within financial models
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and the MS Office Suite
Knowledge of VBA is advantageous
